Tesco to develop iPhone app

Tescos Head of Research, Nick Lansley reviled in his blog that his team have requested for a ‘simple’ shopping application to be created for iPhone smart phone users.

The application will be built to help boost their online sales whilst giving users a simple interface to shop and manage their grocery shopping list. The innovative approach from Tesco’s could open the doors to many other developers developing applications that may check and compare prices whilst on the move and place orders will the top 3 – Asda, Tesco’s and Sainsburys.

Lansley explained in is blog that he didn’t want to prevent or restrict the API to just one developer or exclude other developers from creating applications as he wants ensure that it is embraced by all.
