The iPhone 3GS is apparently hiding a little more under its smooth sleek exterior, according to the iPhone lovers out there the 3GS can play HD 1080p video quality. The hardware has the ability to play it so really it could just be a simple (so we say) as a software upgrade supplied from Apple to give 3Gs iPhone owners a brilliant video player.

According to GSM Arena, Engadget spent time testing and playing with the device and got the high res video to work at 10Mbps 1080 but the 20Mpbs 720p was stuttering so the software available now is unstable but even this impressed us.

iPhone 3GS owners look out as high quality video could be available to you in a flash.
